PAINTING SACRED WISDOM – THE ENNEAGRAM SYSTEM
The Enneagram represents a map of our personality structure. Personality is formed in order to meet our individual needs for connection and comfort. These needs reflect nine ways or perspectives in which to experience our relationship with Divine Unity. A newborn infant starts out knowing only connection. A young child begins to experience separation while developing a sense of personal identity. To fill the gap, every individual forges a personality in the attempt to feel secure and to return to a sense of wholeness.
- HOLY PERFECTION: There is an underlying “rightness” in all that is. In order to know perfection, our consciousness must be clear, without projection or distortion. (Reformer personality)
- HOLY WILL: There is a unified intelligence and force behind all the functioning in the universe. Accepting this reality leads to freedom. (Caregiver personality)
- HOLY HARMONY: Things naturally move in the right direction, unfolding according to inherently optimizing experiences. (Achiever personality)
- HOLY ORIGIN: “Being” which is the essence of truth, love and perfection is our source, our substance, and our basic nature. (Artist personality)
- HOLY TRANSPARENCY: Our experience is the personalization of one living unity. (Thinker personality)
- HOLY STRENGTH: Basic trust provides us with the confidence that reality supports us in all ways. (Loyalist personality)
- HOLY PLAN: Beauty, harmony and order are inherent in the process of unfoldment which flows freely when we are no longer fixated on an agenda. (Adventurer personality)
- HOLY TRUTH: Everything we experience or perceive is the expression of one “being”. (Leader personality)
- HOLY LOVE: Reality is lovely. When we recognize its intrinsic goodness, we see the beauty of “being”. (Peacemaker personality)
